Dunlin, Camel Estuary

More of that wonderful low winter sun. It is remarkable how estuarine mud changes colour with the light. When the sun is high, it can be a rather boring... err... mud colour. But when the sun gets low, it can be transformed into a glowing carpet of orange, yellow and blue. These dunlin in their greyish winter plumage were similarly transformed.
